----Founded in 1985, the New Technology Development Centre (NTDC) is a subordinate entity to the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) …China's largest nongovernmental federation committed to science and technology.

----The CAST, consisting of 165 national societies and 30 provincial branches, with a membership of 4 million, involves herself in a wide range of professional fields covering natural science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and some interdisciplinary sections.

----The CAST has shaped direct cooperations with her counterparts in over 40 countries and regions and joined over 210 international nongovernmental organizations of science and technology.

----Backed by the consolidated technological strength of the CAST's subordinates, the NTDC has become an external-oriented entity devoted to the international exchange and cooperation in science and technology. Through her multivarious international channels, the NTDC plays an active role in the progress of science and technology, in the industrialization and inter nationalization of high and new technologies and in the economic development.

Organizational Structure

----Headquarters in Beijing, China, the NTDC has 3 directly-owned companies, a number of affiliated businesses all over the country and 4 overseas liaison offices.

The three companies are as follows:

----1. The Technology Clearinghouse of China, a national enterprise authorized by the State Council, devoted to technology introduction and export consultancy;

----2. The Huamei Technology Exchange Corporation(China/Tech), a Sino-American joint-venture engaging in the scientific and technological exchange and cooperation mainly with the United States;

----3. The Beijing Kaito Electronic Science and Technology Corporation, a hi-tech enterprise authorized by the Beijing Special Zone for the Development of New Technology Industries specializing in the development and marketing of high and new technologies and in the international transactions connected with technology, production and trade, enjoying preferential treatment of the Zone.
